“The Creator is the divine Person who as such will later act as the Lord, Advocate, and Guardian of His people and all peoples.” – Karl Barth, Church Dogmatics, Volume III.1, page 110
“The goal of creation and at the same time the beginning of all that follows, is the event of God’s Sabbath freedom, Sabbath rest and Sabbath joy, in which man, too, has been summoned to participate.” – Karl Barth, Church Dogmatics, Volume III.1, page 98
Followers of Barth Bite are aware that some days I do not share any quotes from Karl Barth even though I read ten pages of his Church Dogmatics every day. However today, on the first day of the new year, I found two short statements worth sharing.
“What we read in Gen. 1 and 2 are genuine histories of creation.”
“A man without imagination is more of an invalid than one who lacks a leg.”
– Karl Barth, Church Dogmatics, Volume III.1, pages 89 and 91
